Raleigh, N.C. and St. Petersburg, Fla. – January 12, 2018 – A group of independent Neurosurgeons, Orthopedic surgeons, and pain management specialists have come together to form a new ambulatory surgical facility in St. Petersburg, Fla. The new center, to be called Skyway Surgery Center, will be located near downtown St. Petersburg, in close proximity to Bayfront Medical Center. The outpatient surgical facility will be managed in partnership with Compass Surgical Partners, a Raleigh, N.C. based operator of ambulatory surgical centers.

The new center will be 10,000 square feet and have two operating rooms and one additional procedure room. It will be a state of the art center and will support many surgical procedures traditionally performed in the hospital. The surgical experience at Skyway Surgery Center will be second to none, with equipment, staffing, surgical protocols specifically geared toward minimally invasive orthopedic and spine outpatient surgery.

Vero Beach Facility Provides Community with Safe, Affordable, Convenient Health Care Options

Raleigh, N.C. and Vero Beach, Fla. – November 17, 2017 – The Advanced Center for Surgery, a freestanding surgery center located in Vero Beach, Fla., completed its first total outpatient shoulder replacement surgery case in November, 2017. Dr. Erin Forest of Vero Orthopaedics & Neurology completed the surgery.

The Advanced Center for Surgery (ACS) has developed clinical protocols specifically designed to support outpatient total joint replacement surgery for qualified patients. Outpatient total joints represent a growing trend in the industry. There was a 47 percent increase in elective outpatient hip and knee replacement procedures nationally between 2012 and 2015. Additionally, it is estimated that volumes knee and hip replacement procedures will increase 457 percent and 633 percent, respectively, over the next decade.¹ Total shoulder replacement should follow a similar trend, with an increasing number of procedures being conducted in the outpatient setting, many of which will migrate to the convenient, same-day surgery setting of a freestanding surgery center.

Raleigh, N.C. and Davenport, Fla. – August 31, 2017 – The recently opened Heart of Florida Surgery Center (HFSC) in Davenport, Fla. has received accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and “deemed status” certification from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The 13,000 square-foot ambulatory surgery center, located at 410 Lionel Way in Davenport, is a partnership between Compass Surgical Partners, Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center, and a group of local physicians.

Raleigh, N.C.– August 29, 2017 – Holly Springs Surgery Center (HSSC), a new freestanding surgery center in Holly Springs, North Carolina, recently signed a contract with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) that provides access to patients in BCBSNC health plans.

BCBSNC is the largest health plan in North Carolina, insuring a majority of commercially insured individuals across the state. HSSC is also contracted with Blue Cross to provide access to its Medicare managed care policyholders.

The result is increased access to a convenient, high-quality, affordable surgical option. Residents of Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, and other areas of southern Wake County now have an outpatient surgical option that is both closer to home and less costly. HSSC provides for a broad range of specialties offered by the area’s premier physician groups.
