Myers, Fla. – December 28, 2018 – In July 2018, the partners of Performance Health Surgery Center broke ground on construction of a new 17,000 square foot outpatient surgical center in Ft. Myers. The new center will anchor a new multi-use development in Ft. Myers, located at 16501 Three Oaks Parkway near Interstate 75 and Southwest Florida International Airport. The stand-alone surgery center will provide state-of-the-art surgical services and will be a premier destination for outpatient total joint replacement. The facility will be managed in partnership with Compass Surgical Partners, a Raleigh, N.C. based operator of ambulatory surgical centers. With construction well underway, the facility is slated to open in Summer, 2019.
The new center will have four operating rooms designed specifically for the performance of complex orthopedic and spine surgery. The entire program has been designed to accommodate surgical cases traditionally performed in hospital settings; the design will include large operating rooms, high-end sterilization equipment designed for efficiency, and a concierge-like feel for patients. Clinical programs will center around providing a seamless experience for patients, from patient education, close coordination with affiliated physician practices, and surgical and post-operative protocols aimed at maximizing patient comfort and speed to recovery.
Performance Health Surgery Center will create substantial savings for patients and third-party payers as many surgical cases performed in the facility are traditionally completed in a hospital setting, at a very high cost to the patient. Cost reduction for patients electing to have surgery at Performance Health Surgery Center could be over 50 percent. As with all Compass-operated ASCs, the facility plans to become Medicare certified and accredited by the Ambulatory Accreditation Association for Health Care.
