Raleigh, N.C. and San Antonio, T.X. – January 16, 2019 – In December 2018, Compass Surgical Partners entered into a partnership with St. Raphael’s Surgery Center (“SRSC”) in San Antonio, TX. The state-of-the-art surgical facility provides an optimal surgical environment for surgeons in the specialties of otolaryngology, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, podiatry, pain management, and cardiology. St. Raphael’s was founded by Lance Jackson, MD, one of the nation’s leading inner ear specialists. The center is located at 18518 Hardy Oak Blvd in San Antonio.
Trained at MIT, Washington University, and Stanford, Dr. Jackson’s practice is a regional destination for implantable hearing devices such as cochlear implants and bone anchored hearing devices (BAJA devices). He has published numerous studies on Otology and Neurotology in leading medical publications, regularly speaks at industry conferences, and teaches an international course in his field.
The state-of-the-art center was opened in 2014 by Dr. Jackson and has supported surgical care for thousands of patients since then. Compass will build upon the initial success of SRSC by implementing its CORE™ operating system, focusing on recruiting additional world-class physicians into the center, and growing SRSC as a destination for complex surgery such as inner ear surgery, spine surgery, and total joint replacement surgery. Compass has a strong track record of developing and managing facilities of this nature by providing the safest, most efficient environment possible for surgeons and patients alike. This focus will allow the newly formed partnership to maximize the value SRSC can bring to patients and payers in south-central Texas.
