Compass Surgical Partners and Local Surgeons Sell Majority Interest of Advanced Center for Surgery to United Surgical Partners International
Raleigh, N.C. and Vero Beach, Fla. May 13, 2019 – Compass Surgical Partners and local surgeons have sold a majority stake of The Advanced Center for Surgery (ACS) to United Surgical Partners International (USPI).
ACS is a partnership between Compass and community physicians in Vero Beach, including many of the physicians of Vero Orthopaedics & Neurology. The physicians, in conjunction with the expertise of the Compass team, made the Advanced Center for Surgery a high-quality musculoskeletal surgical option for residents of Vero Beach and Indian River County.
In 2016, Compass partnered with the physicians to help create a practice-based surgery center solution. Ultimately, Compass identified an existing surgery center and led the purchase of 100% of the existing facility’s assets to convert it into an ASC solution for Vero Orthopedics. The approach allowed the physicians to minimize capital outlay and accelerate the process to jump start the surgery center. Since opening, ACS has seen more than 5,000 patients, implemented both a spine and total joint replacement surgery program, and grown the partnership.
