May 5, 2022 – Raleigh, NC, & Chicago, IL —Compass hires Michael Wegmann to join the Compass team as Vice President of Business Development for the western region. With that, BLÜPRINT ASC Consulting Services becomes part of Compass Surgical Partners.
Most recently, Michael led BLÜPRINT ASC Consulting Services which provided surgeons and ASCs with a customized blend of services and solutions involving managed care, efficiencies, patient engagement, data collection, and development. BLÜPRINT helped surgeons and ASCs prepare for the mass migration of surgical procedures to the outpatient setting. Before that, he’d excelled at Surgical Care Affiliates and various medical device sales.
“As the outpatient migration accelerates and as more groups need an ASC partner, we decided to ramp up hiring on our business development team,” said Will Holding, SVP of Business Development. “We were looking for a teammate with the right expertise and a commitment to excellence. Michael joins the team with deep experience, Midwest market knowledge, and a value set that matches our own. We’re excited to have him on the team.”
Based in Chicago, Michael will help Compass continue to expand its business west. As VP of Business Development, Michael will lead partnerships with orthopedic and spine surgeons and practices in de novo and acquired ASCs. “I’ve always been passionate about helping surgeons find their ideal surgical environment so they can help more patients,” said Wegmann. “I liked the approach I saw Compass taking—a non-corporate, partnership style that seeks to more broadly improve healthcare in the US.”
