Martin Health and Compass sponsor new Tradition, FL surgery center project
(March 15, 2016) – Martin Health System, Compass Surgical Partners and leading local physicians will begin construction of an outpatient surgery center in west Port St. Lucie this summer.
The surgery center will be part of a 60,000-square foot medical office building adjacent to Tradition Medical Center. Construction on the three-story building is expected to be complete summer 2017 and will be adjacent to the existing two-story medical office building attached to Tradition Medical Center. The medical office buildings are owned and managed by Optimal Outcomes.
Ambulatory surgery centers (ASC’s) focus on providing same-day outpatient surgical care and diagnostic procedures. The new 11,000-square foot surgery center will feature two operating rooms and two procedural rooms (where procedures such as colonoscopies, pain-management and other non-invasive procedures may take place).
“We are honored to bring Compass’ national operational expertise to this project and are excited to bring best in class medical care to this important and growing community,” said DJ Hill, Chief Executive Officer of Compass Surgical Partners. “This partnership between the hospital, surgeons and Compass should yield optimal results for all our stakeholders.”
The outpatient surgery center is part of the expansion of health care services in Tradition. Martin Health is in the process of expanding Tradition Medical Center, which will add three floors, 90 inpatient beds, an 18-bed observation unit and a cardiac catheterization lab when completed in 2018.
“This surgery center will help us continue our mission of providing exceptional health care to residents of west Port St. Lucie,” said Robert L. Lord Jr., Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Martin Health System. “We believe this will be a valuable service to the community, offering them convenient access to high-quality care.”
